Tra Que Vegetable Village supplies the whole town and even the neighboring towns with almost all vegetable needed in preparing most Vietnamese dishes. You will get to Tra Que village by bicycle. It’s just a kilometer away from Hoi An old town. Riding on a bicycle away from the city in the morning can be refreshing and the scenery on the way to this small village is amazing.
Locals will teach you how to make their very own “Tam Huu” spring roll which is primarily made from vegetables planted and harvested in Tra Que Village. Cao Lau, the Hoi An’s specialty dish, will definitely be on the list of the food you will learn to prepare and cook during this cooking class. Aside from these two famous and delicious foods, you will learn how to make and cook Quang noodle and Banh Xeo.

But this is no ordinary cooking class since you are in Tra Que Vegetable Village. You will not only learn how to cook, you will also learn how to plant these vegetables, tend and harvest them. Your sustainability will not be in question after taking this class.
While working on the field, you will experience how the local people live every day. You will engage with the local people and learn to appreciate more whatever you have and be thankful for people like them you take care of vegetables and make sure they will get in time to be in your dining table every time you are hungry.
After almost a day in Tra Que Village, you should be able to prepare and cook at least 4 Vietnamese dishes when you get back to your home country. You can now cook these amazing dishes for your love ones or for yourself. You may or may not have the talent of cooking, but the new experience and the new knowledge will be there. And you made a change in someone else’s life just by sharing and working with them in the farm where they usually go every day and most probably not much eventful as when you were there.
