I and my wife arrived in Da Nang in the summer, when Festival Season has begun. I had booked accommodation before 1 year to make sure that it’s available because we know it will be difficult to have reservation if i book it on close day. We stayed in Da Nang 1 night and Hoi An 3 nights. When we stayed in Hoi An, my wife wanted to travel from Hoi An to Hue to explore this heritage city .
Firework Festival in Da Nang
Everything is in our plan.
First day, we arrived in Da Nang in the early morning, then we checked in my hotel. We required our driver to have a breakfast and short sightseeing. We visited Linh Ung pagoda of Son Tra peninsula and Marble Mountain. We came back our hotel at noon following driver advice because this evening was Firework Festival. All street will be a lot of people and traffic jam. I was so happy because that night we only stayed at my hotel, drank at bar with my honey on the highest floor and felt everything perfect. Actually, that was not first time I had seen the firework. I like the Festival just because I can join it with everybody to share happiness together.
Memories of Hoi An
On the second day, we departed early also. After 1 hour and half for transferring, we came to Hoi An. This was the second time I had visited Hoi An, it was really amazing to walk around to visit Ancient houses, Phuc Kien Temple, Japanese Covered Bridge and enjoy local food. I really liked Hoi An by night with twinkle candles, friendly people and peaceful space. It made me relax and comfortable. And in this town 3 years ago, I met a half of my life, my wife. She was walking around the old city also when I saw her. When I came back to my hotel, I realized that she lived next door. I tried to talk with her, then we showed each other the photos that we had taken in Hoi An.
To make this visit different from previous visits, we decided to explore another side of Hoi An. We swam at Cua Dai beach, tried to become a farmer to plant vegetable in Tra Que village, ate food made by myself and cruised on Hoai River in the evening. Besides, we played game at Fishing village and drove basket boat. We enjoyed it all that day and would do it the next day.
Hue – Heritage City
On the fourth day, we discovered Hue Heritage City. To know more information about history, culture and architecture, we required a guide in 1 day. She was a sweet girl in traditional clothes “Ao Dai” with conical hat. We were very surprised when we saw the Citadel, Khai Dinh tombs and Thien Mu pagoda. Then we also felt relax with the Perfume River boat trip to visit Thien Mu pagoda and sightsee Hon Chen temple and Kim Long Garden house. Hue is a romantic city like Hoi An. I asked myself “Why they can protect and repair all the destinations in Hue when they existed for a long time and are easy to be destroyed. If we came back Hue in future, we would stay in Hue 1 night because we would like to listen Hue Folk Song on Perfume River by Dragon boat in the evening and become a king and queen in Royal Party. We finished the tour at 3h00 pm. Then, We continued to travel from Hue to Hoi An. We decided to stop to see Lang Co beach with Oyster Farming Village and Hai Van pass. Finish the tour, we returned to our hotel in Hoi An, had dinner and went to bed after a long day.
In the morning we walked around Hoi An again, bought some souvenirs for our friends and selfie with my wife. We transferred to Da Nang airport to come back home. If we have a chance, we will arrive Viet Nam again to do something that we can’t do now. Goodbye Hoi An, See you later.
