Hanoi to Hue
Noi Bai International/ Domestic Airport is 25 kilometers away from the city center of Hanoi. It will take about 35-45 minutes. Shuttle bus is the cheapest option to get to the airport, it is just 60,000 VND. Grab car and taxi normal rate is around 200,000 VND to 250,000 VND depending on the time and traffic.
Vietnam Airlines is the only airline company that offers flight services from Hanoi to Hue directly. Flights schedule starts from 9am onwards. Tip: Traveling on the weekends is usually a lot cheaper compared to weekdays.
Ho Chi Minh to Hue
Tan Son Nhat International/Domestic Airport is 7 kilometers away from the city center. It takes around 20 minutes to get to the airport. Taxi is the usual mode of transfer for it is easy to hail one in the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City. It will cost you around 80,000 VND to 120,000 VND depending on the traffic.
Tan Son Nhat Airport is the busiest airport in Vietnam so it is not surprising when most of the airlines offer flight services from here to Hue. Tip: Book beforehand to get more discount since most of the airlines operating flights from Ho Chi Minh to Hue are lost cost airlines.
Arrival in Hue
Phu Bai International/Domestic Airport is 15 kilometers away from the city of center of Hue. It takes around 30 minutes to reach Hue City depending on the traffic. There are several options to get to the city center.
The cheapest is by shuttle bus which is 50,000 VND – 60,000 VND. This is suitable if traveling alone and/or traveling light. Xe om or motorbike taxi is about 120,000 VND – 150,000 VND depending on the agreement with the driver. 220,000 VND – 250,000 VND is what will cost for a 4 seater taxi. Private car is the best option for family traveling together for it is just 220,000 VND.
