There is no direct bus from Ho Chi Minh City going to Hoi An. Buses need to stop in Nha Trang for a little rest. Passengers who are in a hurry can check with the bus company if there is another bus leaving earlier. If the bus is missed, it is possible to take another bus the next day but needs to inform the bus company before hand for them to check availability. Note that it is allowed to stay in one city for a couple of days with the open bus ticket, passengers are not supposed to be charged for additional fees if they decide to stay in the same city for a couple of days.
